Paralyzed Pup Needs You Now — Help Gigi Heal!

Calling on Lynne and Brett’s Friends, Family, Church Family, Our Delta Family, My Own Friends & Family, and All Who Love Dogs, to Help!

Hi Friends,

My name is Andrea, and I’m reaching out on behalf of two of the kindest, most generous people I know—Lynne and Brett Manning—and their beloved pup, Gigi.

I know Lynne and Brett would never ask for help, and I know how many people they've helped over the years when they were able. I just can't sit back and do nothing now.

Gigi Isn’t Just a Dog. She’s Family. She’s Their Shadow, Their Joy, Their Heart.
Just a few weeks ago, Gigi was her happy, playful, spunky little 4 year old self. Then, suddenly and terrifyingly, she began showing signs of neurological issues. What started with minor pain quickly escalated into partial, then complete limb weakness.

At first, the vet suspected FCE (a spinal stroke), but things worsened so quickly that Gigi had to be rushed back to Auburn University’s Bailey Small Animal Teaching Hospital for intensive care.

After extensive testing — MRI, spinal tap, bloodwork — Gigi was diagnosed with:

Immune-Mediated Meningoencephalomyelitis (MUE)
A rare and aggressive autoimmune disease attacking her brain, spine, and the protective tissues of her nervous system.

At one point, her condition was so unstable that doctors prepared the family for the worst. She became tetraplegic (paralyzed in all four limbs), spiked a 105°F fever, had sky-high blood pressure, and even developed a heart arrhythmia.

But through it all — Gigi never stopped fighting.
And neither did her family.

What Makes Gigi So Special?
Despite everything, Gigi still:

  • Recognizes her family’s voices
  • Wags her tail
  • Eats mangos and oranges her mom brings every day!
  • Drinks well and even tries to "talk"
  • Lifts her head and tries to pull herself toward her mom’s voice
  • Starts climbing the crib when her mom leaves

Her spirit is UNSHAKABLE!
As Lynne keeps telling Gigi's doctors:

“Gigi’s going to be the poster pup for Auburn’s College of Veterinary Medicine!”

With Expert Care and Treatment, She's Improving!
Thanks to one of the top veterinary neurologists in the country, Gigi began aggressive treatment with Cytosar chemotherapy and high-dose steroids to suppress her immune system and stop the inflammation.

And it’s working!
She’s crawling. She’s lifting herself. She’s making incredible progress each day.

The road ahead will be long — likely two years of treatment — but Gigi is showing us all that she’s not done yet. Not even close.

The Hard Part: The Cost
As of now, Gigi’s bills have exceeded $10,000. That includes ICU care, diagnostics, 24/7 monitoring, and her first rounds of chemotherapy.

To continue saving her life, she’ll need:

  • Several more rounds of chemotherapy over the next 2 years
  • Physical therapy and regular follow-ups
  • Around-the-clock care at home
  • New supplies, equipment, and home accommodations
  • Ongoing medications and visits with specialists

Lynne and Brett have already maxed out Care Credit, emptied their savings, and are now dipping into their mortgage funds to give Gigi the best chance.

They would never ask for help — but I am. For them. For Gigi.

How You Can Help

Please donate anything you can — no amount is too small. Truly — $5, $10, $25 — it all adds up.
Please share this campaign far and wide. Post it to your timeline, your dog groups, text it to a friend, post it to TikTok — anywhere and everywhere.
Please pray — for Gigi’s healing, for her doctors, and for Lynne and Brett’s strength.
100% of donations will go directly toward Gigi’s medical care, including her treatments, therapy, and recovery needs.

If you’re a dog lover, you know:
They’re not just pets. They’re family.
Gigi is the soul of their household. Their laughter. Their peace. Their emotional rock.

As Lynne says:

“She’s the light of every room she enters. She loves to play, to entertain, to make you smile.
At my worst, she’s made me laugh. Even now, in her pain, she’s comforting me.”

GOOD NEWS UPDATE!

We just got word that Gigi may be able to go home this week!

While she’s not walking yet, she’s alert, responsive, eating like a champ, and trying to scoot and move on her own. Her doctors believe she’ll thrive even more under the care of her mom and dad — and she’ll continue monthly chemo and steroid treatments from home.

The road ahead is still long, but thanks to your love, your prayers, and your support — she’s got a real shot.

She’s not just surviving.
She’s fighting to get her health and her legs back!

From the bottom of my heart — and I know Lynne and Brett feel the same —
THANK YOU.
For reading.
For praying.
For donating.
For loving this little dog who has already beaten the odds and refuses to stop fighting.

Every dollar donated will be used solely to support Gigi’s medical treatment and long-term recovery.

Your support means everything.

With gratitude and love,
