Hi, I’m Camryn, and this is my sweet girl Freya.
Freya is currently fighting for her life after being diagnosed with FIP (Feline Infectious Peritonitis) a rare and devastating disease caused by a mutation of the feline coronavirus. It causes severe inflammation throughout the organs and, without treatment, is almost always fatal.
Thankfully, there’s now a medication that can save cats with FIP, and Freya has just started her 12-week treatment journey. She’ll need regular vet visits, blood work, and close monitoring to make sure her organs are recovering. It’s a long and demanding process, but it’s her only chance at survival.
Earlier this year, my parents found Freya alone in their garden. She was barely holding on. Malnourished, covered in ticks and fleas, and so weak that the vets said she was one of the worst cases they’d ever seen. She weighed only two pounds and could hardly lift her head.
Despite all that, Freya has the gentlest soul. She greets everyone kindly, cuddles up when you’re sad, and purrs like she’s the happiest cat in the world. Since rescuing her, I’ve taken her to countless vet appointments, for tests, x-rays, multiple parasite treatments, medications, and follow-ups. Every visit and every small step forward has been worth it. She’s grown to seven and a half pounds and become the light of my life.
Now, we’re facing our biggest challenge yet. I’m doing everything I can to keep her healthy and strong, but this journey is emotionally and financially overwhelming. I’m asking for help so I can continue giving Freya the care she needs to finally beat FIP.
Freya has already overcome so much. She’s proof that love and care can bring an animal back to life and I know she still has more fight left in her.
If you’re able to donate, share, or even send love her way, it truly means the world to me. Every bit of support helps keep her on the path to recovery.
Thank you for reading Freya’s story and for helping me give her the second chance she deserves.
— Camryn & Freya
