Donate to Save Finn at Hidden Hill Farm

Hi, I am Erika Redrow a volunteer at Hidden Hill Farm NJ.
At Hidden Hill Farm, we all know that Tara the owner hardly ever asks for anything. This is why I am writing this and creating a GO FUND ME, she would never reach out for help.
WE NEED YOUR HELP! Our sweetest Black Nose Valais Lamb Finn, is not doing well. About a month ago he started to not feel well, Tara instantly jumped into action and started him on meds, vitamins, dewormer and everything in between. Unfortunatly we thought Finn was doing better but over the past weekend he quickly took a turn for the worse. As of Sunday Finn was no longer able to stand and was found laying in his own soil. We picked him up as he could not stand, gave him some medicine and a bath. As the day went on Finn was not getting better and Tara made the decision to rush him to New Bolton Hospital, on the way there Finn started to heavily breathe and then his breathing got shallow and she thought he was going to die in her arms. Upon arrival at New Bolton, the vets quickly started working on him with IV hydration, blood transfusion, dewormer, and around the clock care. Labs came back and the cause and diagnosis was what Tara initially thought. Barber pole worm, or haeminchus, which is a parasite affecting small ruminants like sheep and goat. (THIS IS NOT TRANSMITTED TO HUMANS!) New Bolton told us that their door has been revolving with this parasite as the weather has made is more present. Tara works endlessly and tiresly every day to make sure all pens are as clean as possible and that all of her animals are well taken care of. Unfortunatley these things sometimes just happen.
This morning the vet called to let Tara know that Finn unfortunatley is not doing any better. Little Finn is using all his energy to produce new red blood cells that he is not gaining weight and is still unable to stand because he is severly anemic and weak.
Today the vet bill for Finn is over $2,500.00. The vet wants to try a different course treatment which would include a rumen transfaunation, this is a process of transferring rumen contents from a healthy animal to a sick one. They want to also continue nutrition, and fluids for atleast 3-4 days. This will increase the bill over $2000.00 to start.

This is where I am asking for the help of the community which is all of you. Many of you have visited the farm and have seen the love Tara and all her volunteers have for every animal. Tara will do anything to save any animal however we all know money plays a huge part. Like I mentioned before Tara would never ever ask for this herself and would give anything she could to save this sweet boy. Many of you have asked how could you help the farm in general? Well now is the best time and Tara needs help.

Our goal is set to $10,000.00 to be on the safe side to pay the current bill, future bills, Finn's care if and when he gets better. Any left over donations will go directly to the farm. Tara could use the money to supply dewormer for all the animals on the farm to ensure no one else gets this parasite and to treat any that may already have it.

There is no donation to small, they are all greatly appreciated. Any help you can give to help save the most gentle, sweetest curly haired lamb ever.

Thank you,
Erika Redrow

AGAIN THIS PARASITE IS NOT TRANSMITTABLE TO HUMANS :)
