Hi, I’m Domino!

I’m a 9-month-old energetic and sassy Border Collie pup. About a week ago, Friday, October 24th, I was hit by a speeding car in front of our house. They didn’t even stop; how rude! My family didn’t expect me to make it and desperately rushed me to the doggy hospital. I spent two nights at the hospital, where the nice animal people stitched up a bloody gash on my face, released trapped air in my chest, took X-rays, and gave me lots of attention. My labored breathing got better, I started eating, and I made improvements enough to go home with my family! There was one problem though…I needed surgery. And as soon as possible to repair an open fracture in my back leg before an infection set in. Monday morning, my family found a specialist in Savannah that could perform the surgery I needed that same day. Thank goodness I didn’t have to wait long to get my leg fixed! I stayed overnight again somewhere with nice animal people while I healed from my surgery.

I was so happy to see my family the next day and couldn’t wait to go home for good! I’m trying to be a good pup and not run or use my leg a lot for the next 8 weeks. But what can I say? I’m a Border Collie puppy! My family is taking such good care of me by saving my leg, giving me all the medications I need, and dispensing the antibiotic every 24 hours. This care comes as a heavy burden and a sacrifice for my family. Prayers are appreciated, along with any donations. Thank you!!
