My name is Stacey and I am a close friend of Darlene. On January 3, 2023 Darlene went to Mission Hospital ER for extreme nerve pain and numbness down her arm and fingers. After vigorous testing she learned that she had cancer. The pain was due to cancer in her cervical spine C3-C4 and L4-L5. An oncologist and surgeon told her that if she was not operated on immediately she would likely die or be paralyzed from the neck down. So she went in for an emergency 7 1/2 hour surgery and they found more cancer in her C6-C7 cervical spine. They also found the source of the cancer was in her lung called Non-small cell lung cancer. This was the beginning of a torturous, long battle because the cancer had metastasis to multiple organs which put her in stage 4. Darlene is a fighter and she is willing to do anything to be healed. Her strength is undeniable and throughout this entire journey Darlene has had a smile on her face.

She is down to the last treatment that could possibly save her life and her insurance has denied it 3 times. She can no longer appeal. They will not pay for anymore treatments and she has already paid out of pocket $100,000 on previous treatments such as chemotherapy. She no longer has any funds for her medical treatments. This treatment will cost $100,000-$150,000 with zero coverage so I have started this GoFundMe to help Darlene be able to get this treatment called Brachytherapy. Darlene's son will be getting married next year and her prayer is to be able to attend her son's wedding.

Darlene is a woman of faith and believer of God. God is a healer and we believe He can and will heal Darlene. We believe in the power of prayer so we are also asking for you to pray for Darlene.
