Hello, I am Cookie's mom, Lilly, and my baby is currently in a bad condition with a broken jaw due to being in a fight with a dog as we were having our morning walk. Cookie is a Chihuahua mix and weighs 8 lbs. He's the happiest, most hyperactive dog we have, and seeing him not able to eat hurts me. I have blended his food with wet food and water to feed it to him, but he is refusing to eat.

On June 23, 2025, we took him to the vet, and I was told he'll need jaw surgery. He has bites on his neck and some skin tears on his back and stomach. Just for them to stitch up his cuts was $850 with his insurance. That money was taken from our rent savings, and the surgery costs like 6x our rent, which is $5,500. This includes his surgery, anesthesia, and his medication for after his surgery.

My baby is the best boy, and honestly, seeing him shiver as anyone walks by him hurts me emotionally. Anything will help to just have my baby recover and get better so he can be his playful self. The only ones he allows around him are his two best friends, which are my kittens. They stay snuggled up next to him and purr to heal him, but this is the only way I can think of getting the money since I get paid in 2 weeks. The vet just said to get the money, and in 2-3 business days, my baby will be getting his surgery. But as of right now, I am hand-feeding him little by little, and he's wearing a pee pad since he doesn't like moving from his bed currently.
