My name is Shaindel Beers, and I'm the Vice President of PAWS in Pendleton, Oregon. Because I can't use shelter funds for non-shelter pets, when someone needs help with a pet, I try to help personally when I can.

I'm asking for your urgent help for the Tally family's beloved dog, Bessy. Jessica Tally reached out to me when her dog Bessy became lethargic and stopped eating after a trip to play in the water and go swimming with their family. At first, many people assumed that Bessy had gotten into a toxic algae bloom, but after an exam, the vet discovered that Bessy had swallowed a rock while playing in the water. Bessy was given anti-nausea meds and fluids and twenty-four hours to pass the rock. She didn't pass the rock on her own, so she will need to have surgery to remove the rock she ate.

Many people donated already for the exam to discover what was wrong with Bessy, but we still need your help. Please contribute what you can to save this sweet family dog.
