On November 24, my life changed, I took my dog Bandit, Bandito, Bandit Man who is a Siberian Husky, four years old to the vet because I noticed he was starting to lose weight really fast, I was having to take him outside to pee in the middle of the night every 2 to 3 hours because he was drinking gallons of water way more then usual, he stopped eating and then started eating wet food and now he is on meal prep with boiled chicken, sweet potatoes and vegetables because it’s the best I can do right now as I am a full-time college student and only work on the weekends. My boss’ business is not doing well so I get about 12 hours of work on the weekends and i’m looking for a new job, I recently had a car accident and will not be able to door dash for any extra funds until I get my car back sometime in December. The vet said Bandit either has kidney disease/ kidney failure or diabetes the only way to find out is to do urine test and bloodwork which will cost over $400… The doctor also said if it’s his kidneys, we are looking at euthanasia, if it is diabetes, which is what we want it to be, we can bring him back to good health with insulin and medication and a diet. I rescued Bandit 3 years ago when I was a dog trainer at Petco, someone brought him in and we checked him for a microchip. He ran away from his first owner, who then sold him on craigslist, he ran away from person who took him for free and once I got in contact with both people they did not want him and I got all his vet records and took him home with me. He’s my baby, when I took him in I was in a way better place financially with an apartment, working full-time. I don’t have that luxury 3 years later I work part-time and i’m back in college. If 400 people donated a dollar I could at least find out what his medical condition is then we will figure out where to go from there. Thank you so much for reading, literally anything helps, even if you have advice for me. I’m located in North Carolina, THANK YOU!
