My name is Victoria and me and my husband have started this GoFundMe to raise money for a place very dear to our hearts- Almost Home Animal Rescue in Patchogue, NY. They changed our lives and now it's our turn to help save theirs.

Almost Home Animal Rescue holds a truly special place in my heart. It's where we found our dog Skeety, the missing piece to our family puzzle of now 10. Soon, my husband and I will also be helping fostering puppies through them to help more animals find the love they deserve. Their compassion, dedication, and tireless work have touched our lives in a way we'll never forget.

That's why it breaks my heart to share that Almost Home is now facing the possibility of closing its doors after 18 incredible years of saving lives.

Rising expenses and a decrease in fundraising revenue have left Almost Home struggling to cover even their basic monthly cost. Despite their endless efforts to fundraise, the reality is that events alone are no longer enough. Without immediate help, they may no longer be able to continue with their lifesaving mission- and countless animals will have nowhere to turn.

Since 2007, Almost Home has been a beacon of hope for animals and families alike. Over the years, they have saved thousands of animals from neglect, abandonment, and overcrowded shelters. They have helped pass anti-tethering and animal cruelty laws in Suffolk County, NY. They have partnered with the Soi Dog Foundation to save dogs from the meat trade in Thailand and operated their Training Wheels Program rescuing chained dogs and helping families in need. Their shelter has run low-cost spay/neuter and vaccine clinic, making essential care accessible to the community and provided food, education, and outreach to low-income neighborhoods.

They do all of this because they believe every animal deserves love, dignity, and a second chance- and I've seen firsthand how true that is.

We've started this GoFundMe with the hope of rallying friends, family and fellow animal lovers to help Almost Home keep their doors open. Every single donation-big or small- will go directly toward their operating costs, so they can continue rescuing, healing, and placing animals into loving homes.
