My name is Kristin and my baby dogs name is Akira (TikTok heartspotakira) . She has been having nose bleeds which started October 10th out of the left side.. We’ve been to the vet so
times since and have already spent $3600+ (this includes blood work, x rays, dental x rays, exploratory surgery (twice) , rhinoscopy, medications, etc) . Before this occurred 3 months ago she had emergency bladder stone removal surgery which was $6,500..

Our next steps to figure out what’s going on or why is a CT scan at $1602 and then an oncology consult at $250 plus diagnostics .

We were able to get the CT Scan Monday 11/24..

The CT scan results showed a small mass in the right side of her nasal cavity, opposite side that we’ve been having the bleeding and all. Our primary said cannot move forward with a biopsy to verify what it is without a consult with oncology. Due to the Thanksgiving Holiday a lot of doctors are on vacation or offices closed. We were beyond lucky to find an oncology consult this Friday morning 11/28 at 9 am.

We have been told that they will need to make sure it’s either fungal related infection or nasal carcinoma.

In 2022 we came across the euthanasia list at our local shelter. Akira was the first one on the list, she had been returned or stray found 5-6 times in 4 years. The shelter listed her as “we’ve spent too much already need space” . We knew instantly we had to save her, at least foster, we made it 2 days and knew. 3 years later.. we just want her okay. She is the sweetest girl with the purest soul.

We will do anything to help her and hope you can help us too. If you are unable to donate, we understand and ask if you could share/press all the buttons!

We truly appreciate you, never thought we would be here but we are and praying. Will keep everyone updated, Impatiently awaiting Friday at 9 am.

Love you beyond words

IT WONT LET ME ADD UPDATES
UPDATE 12/9 : Well, not what we had hoped…

just received the call and The biopsy of the mass in her nose came back cancer. However, the cells are too underdeveloped to tell what kind.

We have a couple options … now that we know it’s some type of cancer we can jump to radiation either palliative (not as direct/long lasting) $4,500-$5,500 or aggressive radiation (more direct) $10,000 . Or we can have the biopsy tested for what kind of cancer at $278 a test.

The oncologist suggested to send for tests to tell what kind to come up with a better plan for radiation (if we choose to do that which it’s our only option, surgery is not possible in this area) .

We don’t want to loose her and we just want her better..

It pains me and I can’t stop crying, that the world revolves around green paper money and you can’t do anything without it.

If you could donate we would forever be SO thankful as you are personally saving our girl and getting her the treatment she desperately needs. Thankful, grateful and so appreciative of you ♥️♥️♥️

If not, we completely understand as we know how hard it is already without vet bills. If you could just share the video so others could manifest and pray for us as well, we truly appreciate it ♥️♥️♥️

Wanted to let you all know as soon as we knew…

Thank you for the continued love, prayer and support. We aren’t too sure where to go from here but appreciate your advice.

love you, talk soon ♥️

UPDATE 12/21 -
We DID order the cancer type test

Oncologist said test results are negative for carcinoma she is now thinking sarcoma .
We don’t know any of the differences but underdeveloped cells is making it hard to test what type.
The radiation doctor needs a for sure prognosis of type before they can move forward with treatment. We ordered the other 2 tests at $556.

Regardless of the tests coming back in a timely manner, Oncologist recommended we schedule the consult with the radiation doctor to get ahead.

As either way our next step is treatment.

The soonest they could get us in is Tuesday 12/23 at 10 am. This appointment is to talk about the different options and what would be best for Akira at this time and schedule the radiation treatment.

We were quoted $10,000 for the treatment itself but will have more information Tuesday.

Our oncologist spoke to the radiation doctor and said they want to start treatment that following week 12/29.

We are hopeful this will happen as it's the only way Akira will get any relief with the nose bleeds / the mass / breathing.

We are so close to finally knowing and figuring this out ♥️

Thank you so much to the ones who have already donated, we are so thankful and grateful for you. You helped us get these tests we desperately need to figure everything out. We thank you ♥️♥️

Appointment Tuesday is $225 and to schedule treatment, more updates to come Tuesday! Thank you all ♥️

UPDATE 1/2/26 -

Just finished radiation treatment
has some side effects such as enlarged lymph nodes and restless / tired
we have a follow up 1/7/26 so will let you know

UPDATE 1/7/26 -

The lymph nodes are much larger but they said to keep monitoring her as it is normal after radiation treatment. We will have a follow up CT scan and/or x rays in March

UPDATE 2/10/26 -
We have been worried about the lymph nodes still being enlarged so we brought her in to the main location. They said they feel it’s side effects and to keep monitoring her, if we truly want to know and can afford it they can sedate her and biopsy the lymph nodes. We were quoted $600-$800 and said we would try to get the money together (the visit alone was $225…) and we would schedule for mid April.

UPDATE 4/29/26 -

time isn’t our friend.. unfortunately life is so hard and we weren’t able to get anything together and Akiras having a hard time breathing now. We don’t know if it’s due to the lymph nodes or what. She’s mouth breathing and doesn’t sound like she’s breathing from her nose.. we took her in. The said the only way to know is to run all the tests including a full body CT Scan and Biopsies of the lymph nodes. She did great with all the tests and sedation. They said we should receive results and more answers Tuesday once the radiologist gets back to the Oncologist…

UPDATE 4/5/26 -

We got the call with the results…
The 4 cm nasal tumor she received radiation for in January is completely gone 100%, praise lord. However unfortunately the lymph nodes we were told is due to side effects is cancer spread and she has a new tumor mass in the back of her nose near her throat. When I asked how and why this could happen especially since we brought her many many times before.. the doctor said the side effect of inflammation in the lymph nodes one day turned into cancer cells spreading. We would have never known either or without the tests. Before radiation end of December they were tested multiple times and clear. But it spread in the last 2 months… we don’t know what to do but have a couple options…

1. chemotherapy treatment to stop the spread however the specific drug the oncologist wants to use, it has a rare side effect that if she were to react it would be like receiving radiation therefore enlarged lymph nodes and wouldn’t respond to chemo. However they have never seen this rare side effect ever happen so they recommend it over the others. It’s the best one for her type of cancer, “undifferentiated sarcoma” enough cells to be a sarcoma but not sure which. This treatment we were quoted $875-$1,500

2. Chemotherapy treatment and Palliative radiation simultaneously. To stop the spread and radiate the specific spots. This is what the oncologist recommended for her best chance. Unfortunately it’s $5,500-6,500 as well as Chemo at $1,500 totaling almost $8,000.

3. Choose no treatments, keep her comfortable for as long as possible

If we had all the money in the world we would do the best we could to get her the best care possible (of course).
However from the beginning of all of this we could never afford ANY of it…
her previous radiation was $10,000 this last Friday appointment was $3,300 and all the others… we are well well over $35,000++ in such a short time (probably way more but I need to add it all and I truly don’t want to know the number right now especially after today). We need to make a decision and we need to do it quickly as she’s not breathing well. If you could help support her in anyway whether it’s donating $0.01 or pressing buttons on her social media pages… we would really appreciate it and be so so thankful. It would be a different story if we had money and could decide. Not having anything makes it so much harder. it would really help and we could make a better decision without thinking about money… Thank you so much ♥️ hopefully we have a better update soon… hopefully we can save her together

overall, please pray for our girl ♥️
