Hi, my name is Peyton. I’m 18 years old, and my dad, Thomas, who is 58, has been living with Alport syndrome for decades. Throughout his life, he’s endured countless treatments and multiple transplants, but right now, he’s struggling more than ever.

My dad is currently experiencing kidney failure and other serious complications. He’s on disability, while my mom, Dee (61), works full time to keep our family afloat. She works long, exhausting days, and comes home stressed, but despite her best efforts, the medical bills from ongoing hospital visits and treatments continue to pile up.

Right now, my dad is on dialysis and has frequent hospital care. It’s heartbreaking to watch him go through this, and to see my mom so stressed and overwhelmed. She’s even considering taking on a second job to keep up with the expenses, which is so sad to see.

As their kid, I often feel helpless. I just want to do something to make their stress go down or something. All the funds raised will go directly toward covering medical bills, treatment costs, and helping my dad on his journey toward recovery.
