Thank you for taking a moment to consider donating to Sara’s treatment as she battles Breast Cancer. Our spirits remain high and we are so grateful for the outpouring of support that we’ve already received. It’s been a long journey already following her diagnosis a few weeks ago, and the road ahead will be challenging and overwhelming.

Your contribution will aid in Sara’s recovery in a variety of ways. Primarily, these funds will go toward assistance with medical costs such as co-pays, treatments/procedures, hospital stays, prescriptions, and physical therapy, but there are other costs that will be incurred from taking time away from work, ride-sharing as needed, meals, etc. Currently, we are unsure how much time Sara will need in recovery beyond her bilateral mastectomy/reconstruction. For the surgery itself (a 10+ hour procedure), we are looking at 3 days in the hospital, followed by 3 weeks of active recovery at home.

Thankfully Sara is not a candidate for Chemotherapy, as this is a Stage 1 cancer, but it will not be known until we get results from pathology following her mastectomy whether or not she will need to undergo radiation therapy, which would extend her acute recovery time.

All this said, we are lucky to not only have a broad support network, but excellent physicians and healthcare coverage. We are by no means asking you to extend yourselves in any way beyond what is reasonable and comfortable. Anything helps. At the end of all of this, Sara and I will be okay.
