Meet Sandra.
Since 2017, Sandra has been a steady, compassionate presence in Miami—caring for a colony of around 70 community cats every single day. As a registered feeder with a local 501(c)(3) rescue organization, she plays a vital role in their wellbeing: feeding them, applying medication when needed, monitoring their health, and ensuring they feel safe, seen, and loved.
The nonprofit provides veterinary care, including TNVR (Trap-Neuter-Vaccinate-Return) and medicine when the cats are sick. Sandra carries out the daily care—showing up rain or shine, using her own money to purchase food and supplies.
She doesn’t do it for recognition. She does it because she loves them—and they love her right back.
Seeing the way she interacted with the cats—calling them by name, checking on each one, and making sure everyone was fed—left a strong impression on me. She told me, simply, “I’ve been doing this since 2017.”
Our Goal
We’re raising funds to help Sandra continue this vital work—especially as she approaches retirement. With your support, she won’t have to choose between meeting her own needs and continuing to care for the cats who rely on her.
Your donation will go toward:
- Daily food and fresh water for the cats
- Supplies Sandra provides out-of-pocket (like bowls, plates, etc)
- A small ongoing stipend to help Sandra continue caregiving post-retirement
Why It Matters
Sandra is part of an ethical, effective system of community cat care. Through her partnership with the rescue organization and her consistent daily dedication, she’s helping to stabilize the cat population, reduce suffering, and protect public health.
She shouldn’t have to carry this responsibility alone. Let’s show up for someone who has quietly and faithfully shown up for so many.
Please consider donating or sharing this campaign. Every dollar helps—and every act of kindness reminds Sandra that her compassion doesn’t go unnoticed.
Thank you!
