Hi Everyone!
My name is Saga, I’m a trans girl living in Brooklyn, NY
Living here, I’ve been able to find an amazing huge queer family and community, while having the privilege of being in a state that covers my gender affirming hormones and surgery costs -
While my surgery is accounted for by the state, I will still be responsible for all costs of living such as food, any necessary supplies I will need for recovery, housing, and more.
I am so excited to share that I finally have an appointment to receive a breast augmentation in August. My chest is a huge source of dysphoria for me, and my medical providers have agreed and signed off on this surgery for me, as it will alleviate the dysphoria and better align my body and brain.
Originally, my surgery was scheduled for mid June, however due to medical complications, the surgery date had to be moved. This led me into a very dark place where cycles of addiction caught up to me. Since then, I’ve been in an out patient treatment center, going to AA every day to keep me focused and on track for recovery. This is allowing me to break old patterns and step into a brighter and safer life for myself.
That being said, I am still job searching, and really need my community now more than ever to help raise funds so I will be able to stay on my feet during this time. For now, I am working for free at a prop house (lots of unpaid manual labor), I sing, I dabble in tattoo, am learning how to music produce, write poetry, and am starting to do drag again!
I want to say thank you in advance to my community for seeing me to this point, and for any donation, no matter the amount! This surgery and recovery means a lot to me. I’ve been scared to ask for help, but the truth is that I need it and I need to focus on healing in many ways.
Thank you all for donations and shares!!
** These funds will be going towards rent, utilities, food, and any needed post-operation care. Your donations will help me to recover stress free, as I cannot work for 6 weeks after surgery.
