UPDATE ON DAD: Dad had been progressing really good for two days post surgery, but they found that he has a valve infection inside his heart (Endocarditis). So they sent the old aortic valve to Washington University to get tested for what bacteria it is. It is unfortunately life threatening and if they can’t get it figured out or determine what or how it was caused, then they may have to do open heart surgery again to remove the sick valves. Basically they believe he had the (Endocarditis) before the surgery hence why they’re sending his old valve to test to see exactly the best way to treat him. Hopefully they won’t have to do surgery again; but he’s not out of the woods. He is comfortable at home now, but still has a lot of healing left to do. Our mom Stacy is helping him with IV antibiotics and some physical therapy with home health nurses. Thanks everyone for the continued Prayers!❤️

To our family and friends:

As you all know, our dad Rusty was recently hospitalized due to heart failure related complications. Our mom Stacy was there by his side the whole time and has been a rock while we all navigate this new reality. Our dad will be going through a life saving open heart operation in August to replace his damaged aortic valve, and will be out of work for a while and Stacy of course will be with him during this time.
