Hi, we’re Ruben and Nico. We've been together since 2008, and for a long time we called Florida home. Unfortunately, due to the increasing hostility and danger trans people are facing here, we are forced to leave the state we once loved. Our current rental home is being sold in just 30 days, and with the escalating discrimination and lack of safety for trans individuals in Florida, we need to start over in a place where we can be ourselves, live without fear, and build a future together.

The discrimination and dangers we face as trans people here in Florida have become unbearable, and we can no longer live in a place where our lives, rights, and safety are continuously at risk. It’s not just a matter of finding a new place to live, but a matter of finding a place where we can thrive, be safe, and create a future free from hate.

We are asking for your support to help us reach our goal of $10,000. These funds will go towards our moving costs, living expenses in our new home, and the many other costs associated with such a big life change. This is our opportunity to escape a toxic environment and to start fresh in a place where we can finally breathe easier.
