We are friends of Silvester who want to do whatever we can to help this transition as easy as possible for the Daye family. We are hoping to get help from the community in raising money to help with funeral cost and other family support. Silvester was a good hearted person who loved to laugh and joke, anyone who new him would tell you that. Him or none of the victims in this ordeal deserved this. Many people in the area knew Silvester so I pray that we can come together on this one and send him off with the least stress to the family. For a little back story as to what happened that morning. Sylvester was coming from work. Though he was technically disabled he still did odd jobs when he could for extra money.
This particular morning his job lasted throughout the night and he was on his way home . He called his father shortly before his death to let him know he was stopping at the Royal Farm Store before making his way to the house. Unfortunately, he never made it home. His father said he went to church shortly after Silvester called and was rerouted on the road leading to the Royal Farm (just minutes from his house) unknown to him that he was being rerouted because of the horrific events that happened to his own son.
That morning it is said that Joshua Green who was suffering from mental illness snapped and murdered his parents in Phoenix MD before coming to the Royal Farm Store in Essex and killed Alfie and Silvester, and shot and injuring a third person who survived the incident. The gunman then went to his own home blocks away and set his apartment on fire and went out front and shot and killed himself in the parking lot.
Silvester leaves behind his mother and father, and his sister. He also has 2 daughters and an ex wife, as well as many family members and friends who will appreciate any love and support from the community and beyond. Please donate and share
