My name is Anna. I am reaching out to you today to share the story of my husband, Ronald Pounds, and the challenges we are facing together. Ron has been diagnosed with mixed dementia, and our lives have been profoundly affected by this condition.

For almost two decades, Ron and I have shared an incredible journey. Now, however, there is only dementia. So many obstacles are now filling our lives. Ron requires constant companionship, with someone by his side or nearby almost 24/7. His short-term memory has greatly deteriorated, almost non-existent at this point. This has led to difficulties in daily activities. He needs help bathing, choosing appropriate attire for the weather, needs all meals made for him, and needs someone to ensure his overall safety.

As Ron's wife and primary caregiver, I have transitioned to working exclusively from home to attend to his needs. However, this has resulted in interruptions in my income, making it challenging to cover essential expenses. We now find ourselves struggling to pay for rent, internet services, utilities, medication copays, and transportation to medical appointments, even for simple tasks like getting a haircut.

Looking ahead, it is evident that Ron's condition will require even more support and assistance in the future. Therefore, I am reaching out to our compassionate community for help. Our goal is to raise $7000, which will greatly alleviate the financial burden associated with Ron's ongoing care and his progressive condition.
