Hi, my name is Kate Szymanski. My partner Fernando and I just got the diagnosis that our beautiful dog, Rocky, an otherwise healthy 9-year-old black German shepherd, has malignant cancer that is very aggressive and luckily has not spread internally. The tumor is large and will require surgery to remove as much as possible and then radiation, which they are optimistic will give him 1.5-2 more happy years! This is great news. Unfortunately, it’s very expensive, especially for two 28-year-olds just struggling to get by in this horrible economy. It’s already cost us close to 4,000 to diagnosis this. Now we’re looking at $12,000 to $15,000 more to perform the surgery and radiation. If you know me, you know this dog is my life. We rescued him less than a year ago, as a senior pup, who was ultimately abandoned by the family that had him his whole life. We gave him a new home and he’s given us every ounce of love in return and in just these few short months, he’s become the best part of my life. I will do whatever I have to to provide him a comfort and happy life for all the love and joy he brings us. Please, if you can spare even just a few dollars, help us give him the care he needs to have a few more good years. Any help is much appreciated.
