Hello my name is Carol Richardson-Gilson, and I am reaching out for my son Rob Gumberts. A July 4th camping trip took a turn for the worst when a torrential downpour occurred. Rob was running to close the windows of their tent and slid in mud, causing a fall that fractured 3 bones in his leg. He was hospitalized immediately and underwent a several hour long surgery. His leg required an almost 2 foot rod to be driven from above his knee to his ankle, as well as multiple screws. The recovery will be lengthy and unfortunately Rob does not have health insurance. His medical bills are extensive and don’t stop with the hospital stay, due to required medical care and follow ups for incisions, medicine, and other medical expenses.
