Please help with Rob’s fight against Glioblastoma
Donation protected
It is with a heavy heart that Rob has passed away peacefully. i personally want to thank everyone in this tough time and thank everyone for their donations and prayers. we as a family and Rob included appreciate everything. we will keep everyone posted on memorial service at demarco’s monroe nj
Update: Rob has gone through countless treatments and scans over the last year, he was responding well at first, though there were some changes on his MRI in May. He continued having treatment, even some modifications in the medications. Early October he started to have more difficulty with new symptoms occurring, and his MRI on October 25th confirmed that there had been more cell growth in other regions of the brain.
He has now started hospice care, though we will never stop praying for a miracle or give up hope, but we need to be sure he remains comfortable during his fight. Our family is reaching out for private care to help during the off hours of the hospice nurses and aides. Since we will be paying privately, we ask that you donate and/or share his go fund me so we can continue to give him everything he needs.
On August 4th our family experienced one of the scariest events of our lives when our brother, Rob, was admitted to the hospital after a grand mal seizure with no prior medical history or illness. After extensive testing, we were told that he had a tumor the size of a golf ball located on the left temporal lobe of his brain, and that the only option was surgery. Rob went in for emergency brain surgery on August 8th, and the surgeon assured all of us that it was successful, but there were abnormal cells in the tumor, it needed to be tested further to have a confirmed diagnosis. He did amazing with healing, and we all decided that this was a good sign, we continued to spend all of our time together as a family, and support him in anyway possible.
On September 7th, Rob had his post-op appointment with the surgeon, this is where we found out that the tumor was a glioblastoma, he will be started on treatment including radiation and chemotherapy as soon as possible to prevent a reoccurrence. He will need to stay on anticonvulsant medications, which will prevent him from driving, so he won’t be able to return to work for some time. We are willing to do whatever it takes to prevent a reoccurrence in the future, and that means scans ever 2-3 months, clinical trials, as well as any medically approved preventative treatment, it will be a long road, but every second counts.
Anyone who knows our brother, is well aware of how great he is. He is an amazing father to three wonderful children who are his entire world. We are lucky to still have him today and know how aggressive a GBM is and there is no cure, or promise of what the future will be. We are continuing to try and cover any personal expenses, but we will need all the help we can get for medical expenses, so any amount of help is greatly appreciated.
