My name is Jessica Lemon. I am starting this GoFundMe for a dear friend of our family, Robert Wright. Robert had to medically retire from Greenville Police Dept after needing his leg amputated due to melanoma. He was well known for his kindness and love for his community as a motor officer.
Robert has not only supported our family and community but truly gives his time, money, and heart to anyone in need. I would truly like to help raise the out-of-pocket cost of his new needed prosthetic.
Prosthetics have to be refitted often and cannot be fixed after 6 years. This new prosthetic would cost $65,000 without insurance but $7,500 out of pocket after insurance.
The cost of battling cancer already puts a mental, emotional, and financial burden on each person that has to face it. No one should have to worry about the cost of a new prosthetic every 6 years also.
His love for police work, riding his motorcycle, and many other things were taken when his leg was amputated due to cancer, but he refuses to allow it to stop him. Let’s come together to take one more worry and strain off his shoulders.
