On September 17th, sweet little Riven came into the world. From the very beginning, his journey has been anything but ordinary. Just a day after his birth, Riven needed emergency care at Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital. His parents, Emaly and Skylar, rushed alongside him, holding onto hope and faith.

Riven’s first days were incredibly tough. He faced life-threatening complications that required him to be placed on ECMO (life support), giving his little body a chance to rest and heal while the amazing doctors and nurses worked tirelessly to keep him alive. Every prayer, message, and show of support meant the world to his family during those long, uncertain nights.

By September 23rd, there was a miracle—Riven was taken off life support! He still needs breathing support and continues to face challenges, including tough withdrawals from medications he’s been on since birth. Every step forward, no matter how small, is a victory and a testament to his strength and the incredible medical team caring for him.

Emaly and Skylar are also caring for their 3 other children, who are struggling with understanding why their baby brother can’t come home yet. The emotional, physical, and financial toll on this family is overwhelming.
