Riley Rose's Urgent Vet Care

I'm starting this GoFundMe for my daughter Kate and her dog Riley Rose. Riley had an unexpected medical event today. We immediately took her to Burlington Emergency Veterinary Services (BEVS) to get treatment. At this time, it is still unknown what is causing Riley to be unstable. She is currently experiencing severe vomiting with unexplained blood loss, dehydration, elevated kidney levels, and high white blood cell counts. The vet treating her doesn't know what's wrong yet. Riley will be staying at BEVS until at least tomorrow afternoon. Right now, her treatment is at $2,400 and change: $200 to walk in the door, and the rest is for testing, care, and medication so far. Half has been paid by Kate. BEVS made us aware that this amount can change depending on the testing they need to do and if Riley is responding to treatment.

Riley Rose is Kate's best friend. She would do anything to help her dog. Currently, she's a mess, rightfully so. If you can help support Kate and Riley, all funds raised are directly going to Riley's vet bills.

4/6 6:30am update: Riley is still at BEVS. The frequency of vomiting has improved with treatment. Although Riley is still very dehydrated and they can’t seem to pinpoint why. She is having an ultrasound at 8am to rule out a gastric obstruction. So far her kidney levels are still elevated and she is negative for Addisons Disease.

4/6 12:30pm Update: Riley’s ultrasound revealed no gastric or bowel obstructions. Her blood tests are mostly normal except for her elevated kidney levels and dehydration, which is baffling since she’s on intravenous fluids. Still no diagnosis but ruling out other possible causes. The vet

said they will attempt to give her food and see how she does with keeping it down, and then another blood draw to recheck. Waiting for our next update between 3-5pm. Kate is thankful to everyone that has called or sent a text of encouragement, and to those that have donated to Riley’s care.
