Hi Friends and Family,

This is Ricky Hill, as many of you know, I am in the fight for my life with a life debilitating condition, kidney failure. I am creating this GoFundMe to help raise financial support as I wait for a kidney match donor, get my transplant and go through the recovery.

I have been fighting this illness since July 2015. When I received the news from my doctors about this evil disease, I can’t begin to tell you all of the thoughts and emotions I began experiencing. I just knew that this could not be what God had planned for me. This journey has been and is a very long and hard ride. The many hospital admissions, not to mention the toll that dialysis has taken on my body, I thought this was it for me. That’s when I had to pray harder and I am not willing or ready to give up the fight. Each time, God would give me the strength that I didn’t realize I had. I would get back up and say to this disease “you will not win, you can not have my life!” I am still in the fight.

Through this experience my relationship with God has grown, because without him I couldn’t do it on my own. I have been blessed to meet some of the nicest and supportive people.

On July 21, 2015, I was diagnosed with End Stage Renal Disease kidney failure .My kidneys were functioning at 27%. To hear that I would have to rely on dialysis to live, I didn’t know what to do or where to turn. I just knew that I had to fight with everything in me. Even with going through all of this I continued to work (as much as I could). As you all know, the only way for me to get through this and to continue life is through a kidney transplant.

On February 25, 2025 I get a delivery from FedEx. As I open the envelope and read the words “ you are now at the top of the list”, all I could do was say “thank you God”. I was so filled with joy, gratitude and hope. The tears began to flow. My prayers were answered. Still in disbelief, I called Emory Transplant Department to get a clear understanding of what was in my hand. They confirmed what I had right in front of me was my answered prayers. I was then informed that my evaluation is scheduled for April 24,2025. This is the beginning process to prep me for my transplant.

I am in need of financial support at this level. At this stage of the process, there are certain obligations that I am responsible for. I have to pay $25,000 which will cover the cost of the first year of the anti rejection medication for the transplant. An account has been setup for me at DELTA Community Credit Union. All donations will go directly to the account and will only be used for my transplant procedure. Your support means the world to me. I am grateful for any amount of support that I am blessed with. I once heard someone say “there is no such thing as a small kindness”. Each act will create a ripple effect with no reasoning.” This day is quickly approaching and I am so thankful for this opportunity.

God has not given up on me, and I am not and will not give up on myself. I pray that you can help me reach my financial goal. Thank you for all your help.
