Hello, everyone. My name is Jahlela (Booth) Cress, the daughter of Rick Booth.

It's with a very heavy heart that I write this. Back in the beginning of summer, my dad, Rick, was diagnosed with a pretty rare form of terminal lung cancer, brought on by years of construction work with unsafe products. He and his amazing girlfriend, Robin, have spent the last year living off and on between Van Life and spending some time in Oregon. It has, unfortunately, gotten to the point where she is no longer able to take care of him properly in the van.

We are humbly asking for donations so that she can continue to take care of him in better living arrangements, where it's easier for her to provide the care she can give. Money will strictly be used for housing costs, food, and any medication he may need. Anything extra that is received will be used for funeral expenses, when that time comes.

There's a lot that can be said about my dad, but I think the most important things are that he loves and cares. He is everybody's friend. Our favorite quote to describe him is, "that man can make friends with a tree." Anyone who knows him knows that he has repeatedly shared others' GoFundMe's when they've been in need. It saddens me to say that he is now the one in need.
