My name is Angela Phillips and I'm starting this fundraiser for my mother, Rhonda Hollifield. In August, she'll be married to my father for 55 years, and she's raised six children and four of her many grandchildren. She's cared for many people through the years and now she has a time of urgent need in her battle with aggressive Stage 3b Clear Cell endometrial cancer.

Because of other severe health challenges, such as her muscular dystrophy, right kidney complete failure, diabetes, three weeks passed from her diagnosis to the point of stabilizing her for surgery on May 22. Two days later, she developed a severe infection that led to sepsis and another hospitalization. Thankfully, she has made great progress. If this continues, she's being sent home to remain on homecare IV-administered antibiotics for four weeks before starting radiation treatments, the cost of which is $4,700 each.

As we work with case workers and doctors to try and get her medications covered, other expenses have mounted, including me taking FMLA to assist my mother throughout her illness. Daily hospital trips to Johnson City have involved gas and other expenses. Although members of our family have been contributing, the need is great to make sure that our mother is cared for properly when she returns home over the next month, including the deductibles for her daily insulin injections.
