Update: Our travel plans are on hold. Sadly, our cat Georgie became critically ill and is still under close watch at Purr Nation Cat Alliance in Georgia. The Story:

During a recent trip to the Georgia mountains, our adventure took an unexpected turn that changed our lives forever. On the first morning of our vacation, as we headed into town along a quiet, remote two-lane highway surrounded by lush trees and mountains, we encountered a tiny, frightened kitten.

A car was tailgating us, so we pulled into the emergency lane to let them pass. Just as we started to re-enter the road, a tiny, scruffy kitten darted out from the grass. We immediately stopped and jumped out — he was so small and friendly, but the passing cars scared him terribly. He ran back into the trees, leaving us worried and eager to help.

After some gentle coaxing with ham sandwiches and a towel to keep him safe, the little guy finally emerged. He was starving and exhausted, crying softly in our arms. We knew we couldn’t leave him there — he needed help. We stopped at a nearby store for supplies, feeding him everything he could eat and doing our best to comfort him.

It was clear he needed medical attention, so we found a rescue nearby. We kept him overnight and fed him every few hours, and we named him Georgie. Although he couldn’t come home with us immediately, we stayed in touch and watched as he began to thrive — eating well, gaining weight, and finally feeling safe.

Now, Georgie is ready to come home! We have already book our flight to go to Atlanta and drive back with a rental.

Georgie has touched our hearts in a way we never expected — and we know he will do the same for our family once he’s safe and sound with his brothers. Your donation will help cover his travel costs and give him the loving home he deserves.
