Hello! Thanks for taking the time to read about my story. I’m Shiloh, a 4 year old German Shepherd. I have a very important job taking care of my dad, Drew. Together, we get to go out and I get to keep him safe. I LOVE my job as a service dog. Recently, I haven’t been feeling like myself and I’ve been more painful. My mom is a vet and gave me some pain medications that helped but I didn’t get better. So she took me to the clinic and took some X-rays and did a thorough exam. She was really surprised to see that my hips have severe arthritis. See what happened, is that my hips didn’t form properly so normal activities cause much more wear and tear. This condition is called hip dysplasia and has made it hard to do my job. In order to keep working, I need to have a total hip replacement on one side. Unfortunately, this is an expensive surgery that my insurance won’t cover. If you have a few dollars to donate to help my humans, I would be very thankful.
