This is Mr. Herman Ealy. He’s been a familiar face and friend to everyone at Cash in A Flash Pawn Shop (Shreveport) for many years. A short time ago, tragedy struck—his home was destroyed in a fire, a home that he himself had built.
At 85 years old, Mr. Ealy finds a spot to rest each night around the North Market area. He’s tried staying at shelters, but after having his belongings stolen, he feels safer on his own. Despite everything he’s been through, he remains kind, humble, and remarkably talented.
Mr. Ealy is a gifted artist. The photos shows him sitting outside the shop, sketching plans to turn an old trailer—a small gift from my dad—into a makeshift shelter. He does not partake in drugs or alcohol. He has also never once asked for help, but it’s clear he truly needs and deserves it.
Please take a moment to share his story. And if you feel moved to help Mr. Ealy get back on his feet, any donation—no matter how small—would mean the world. Together, we can show him that his community cares.
