A wave crashed behind me and flipped me up in the air and I landed on the back of my head. This paralyzed me at the cervical level c1 which I woke up unable to speak, eat, drink, or move at all. I was told I broke my c1 and completely damaged my spinal cord, and that this will leave me paralyzed from my neck down for the rest of my life and unable to do any of the basic functions again. Rehab and I figured out how to speak, eat, drink, and talk again and I even started gaining movement. I was told I was lucky to be alive because of my level of injury. I got all the way to sitting on my own and simulated walking. Then I had to have surgery along with other major hiccups that set me back in my recovery. Now I am no longer able to drive my chair, let alone do any of my basic functions anymore. It’s now at the point where I’m out of physical therapy money and I need more help than ever to raise money to get me back to where I was. I was so close to recovery that it makes me feel defeated but yet motivated at the same time to get back to where I was. Now my main set back is not having enough funds to pay for my physical therapy to accomplish my goals. Every dollar counts, thank you in advance for any donations and support that comes my way!
