Hello family & friends. Many of you are aware that my mom (Mary Hatch), Mr. Keith and Gracy experienced the traumatic event of a house fire on Saturday, January 11th. First and foremost, we give thanks to God almighty for sparing their lives and gracing them to make it out alive!
Unfortunately, the only thing they have remaining were the clothes they were wearing when they escaped. Everything: clothing, undergarments, shoes, personal items, hygiene items, cars, dog food/items, ID's, credit/bank cards - Anything you can think of, essential and sentimental....it was ALL destroyed in the fire with the home which she lived and created memories in for almost 30 years. We are working on restoring their lives bit by bit, but many of these things require identification which was destroyed in the fire and many of us can relate to how attaining identification with the MVA is a (daunting) process.
Many of you have inquired about how you can help, so I wanted to give you an accessible opportunity to do so. Assistance for temporary financial support towards the purchase of essentials such as clothing, hygiene products and daily meal purchases will be most helpful at this time until other funds can be accessed/released. A little can go a long way, so no dollar amount is too little. Even a $20 donation can aid in a meal for the day :-)
They have both been so strong and resilient during this time. Even in the mist of losing nearly every material possession they own, coming close to death and being faced to start life over from ground zero, they are STILL choosing daily to praise God and be thankful for His grace to be alive.
Thank you to all who have prayed, shared kind and encouraging words and support thus far. It has been most appreciated and I know they are so fortunate to have such an amazing village.
Many thanks to you all,
Kadija and family
