Hey friends!
I have spent my life dancing, singing, and playing pretend on stage because I loved it. I learned later that I was autistic and theatre was a special interest. I have been in over 49 different shows as leads, ensemble parts, and everything in between.
Unfortunately, I have a medical issue called Chronic Exertion Compartment Syndrome that is stopping me from being able to participate in almost anything, including theatre. I can’t walk for longer than 10 minutes without pain and swelling in my legs. If I push too hard, there is a chance I could lose circulation to my feet and they would have to be amputated.
When I was a senior in high school, I played soccer with this condition and I got the surgery to fix it the day after my graduation. Unfortunately, there is a 50% chance it will come back, and I am part of the statistic that I’m not a fan of.
I am asking for help for my deductible, rent, and income for time off work (they won’t cover it with short-term disability because it’s a pre-existing condition), and overall help with life expenses including DoorDashing more frequently during recovery and having to Uber to physical therapy appointments.
Anything will help, even one dollar. It’ll change my life and I can get back to what I love.
