About two years ago our non-profit Backyard Midland (now Homeless Network of Friends) came across a family of 9 where homeless and living in a hotel. They had no vehicle to get their 7 young kids around. Unbeknownst to us there was a single mom waiting for the perfect family to bless with her van and that was Anitriea. She said God was leading her to give the van to "a family that can fill the seats" and she did just that. Receiving no financial credit, she signed over the title and helped them get their footing in Midland.
Due to no fault of her own she finds herself in need of that same help. During the storms we had some weeks ago her vehicle's engine was damaged. She is working but because of financial reasons she only had liability at the time so sadly that was the end of the line for her vehicle.
Anitriea works as a CNA caregiver and has been able to use her company's vehicle to go to work. Although that is great, she can only go to and from clients. Meanwhile the days of summer are quickly passing the boys by as they are limited and when school starts next month, they will NEED a personal car.
Can we please come together as a community to help this mom and her boys. She has such a giving heart.
Thank you, Jim Hughes.
