Donate to rescue lives in the Mediterranean

My name is Theodore Bischoff, and I’m 16 years old. On August 30th, I will swim 4 ½ km across the Dardanelles (Hellespont), the strait of water between continental Europe and Asia in Turkey, to raise money for SOS Méditerranée.

SOS Méditerranée is a European maritime and humanitarian organisation dedicated to the rescue of life in the Mediterranean Sea. It was founded in 2015 in response to the rising number of deaths in the Mediterranean and the failure of the European Union to prevent them. In the last eight years alone, more than 23,000 people have lost their lives crossing the Mediterranean. In that same period, SOS Méditerranée welcomed over nearly 35,000 survivors aboard their rescue ships.
