This website has been prepared to raise funds needed for reprinting the ORIGINAL edition of the Bhagavad Gita AS IT IS written by His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Srila Prabhupada. Over time a variety of later editions were somehow published that totally fail to maintain the original wording, layout, and artwork as approved by Srila Prabhupada. Our mission is to correct this.

The amount we are seeking allows for printing one order of 5,000 full-size hardbound Bhagavad Gitas on quality stock, including the original full color illustrations. Depending on the distribution and (worldwide) demand, we will reprint this order on an ongoing basis. The printing cost is projected to be $25,000. I suggest that we raise $29,000. The balance over and above printing will be allocated for web hosting costs (charged by GoFundMe before releasing donations to us) and for any related expenses (travel, delivery of files, computer matters, etc.) associated with handling the order

My name is Vasanta dasa, ACBSP. I served early on as a photographer with Yadubara, Bhargava, Madhusudana, and others at the NY Press in Brooklyn (1974-75). At that time the Press was jamming at all hours with the layout and printing of Back to Godhead and Srimad Bhagavatam.

I am currently the founder and executive trustee for Lotus Ministry Trust, a faith-based non-profit charity in San Francisco, established in 2021. Our efforts are focused on food relief and related humanitarian services. In the past 5 years we have fed over 100,000 people overseas in Bangladesh and we have opened a dozen small schools centered upon Bhagavad Gita classes in their local language.

I am sharing this since I have, at my discretion, a non-profit trust bank account able to receive funding from anyone with zero tax liability. When funds land here via GoFundMe, I will arrange to wire them directly to the printer - or to those devotees who are arranging the printing.

We have an opportunity to make a fundamental difference in book distribution and to please Srila Prabhupada immensely. I am grateful to serve with this campaign. I want to see innumerable original Bhagavad Gitas printed and distributed everywhere.
