Help to Replace an Unsafe Truck

Hello there... I wouldn't do this unless I was in dire need. My truck (2001) is about ready to fall apart. It will nickel and dime me to death if I let it. I have been trying to save, but little things keep popping up, and I'm not getting as many hours at my job. I'm still working on saving what I can, but the sooner I no longer have to depend on this truck the better.

I need a new vehicle because I don't think this truck is going to last another Northeast winter.

I put 4,000 as the goal because I don't know if you have to pay taxes on anything received from here, and it will also help with the title, and registration.

If you are wondering why I didn't ask my bank for a loan, well I did. But because I filed for bankruptcy about 5 years ago they said no. I'm not irresponsible with money, but back then my dad suddenly got sick and I had to quit my job to move and take care of him. We were living off his SSI and my credit card... then of course our van broke down, and I needed that to get him to and from the doctors so I had to use my card. Then he had to go into hospice, and I had to move from where we had been living... and I could just not keep up with the credit card.

I'm sorry, that was a lot, and I realize it may have sounded like a sob story.

This is what the bed of my truck looks like right now. I should not be driving it, but I need to get to work. If you look at it from the passenger side it looks like it's folding in on itself.
