In the world as we know it today, people are always asking for “something”. I’ve lived trying not to. I am well educated, carrying a Bachelors Degree as a Nationally Registered Medical Assistant. I worked as a CNA which led to being an EMT and a Health Unit Coordinator Ward Clerk. I chose to give up the big money, following my heart to just take care of the people who need me most of all. I’m just a good old girl from Millstadt and have been blessed to see 62 spins around the sun. I live a modest lifestyle, and do what I can to contribute to the needs of others. I make no apologies for who I am, nor for the “fight” in me … when it comes to my loved ones. There’s no shred of embarrassment in me, for my GFM request – because I know within my heart, I’ve given it my absolute best.
My man of 25 years is completely disabled. “Chuck” and his friend were hit by a drunk driver, He attempted to push his friend out of harm's way during the accident, getting entangled on the bumper of the vehicle. He lost his right leg back then. Today, “Chuck” is completely wheelchair and bedbound. Because of this, he’s now developed multiple tumors on his spinal column.
I also take care of a woman with Cerebral Palsy. My friend Cindy of many years, is also completely wheelchair and bedbound. She’s a full quadriplegic. I drive both to their doctor appointments, pick up medications, grocery shopping , to meet all of their needs. They both have medical transportation, but that system is broken. Many times they’ve missed appointments due to "failure to show" or forced cancellations. When in reality, the medical vehicles were not equipped with a lift. The company misread their tickets prior to arrival and sent the wrong vehicles. (They’re each getting charged a $25.00 cancellation fee as well). BOTH of my loved ones are on a fixed income. There is barely enough left after co-pays and unnecessary charges, to provide for their needs. We bought a handicapped accessible van with a lift. Our old girl has seen better days. I am asking for donations because I cannot continue to repair her nor can I buy a better one. Our van needs a/c, control arms, idler arms, brakes and a bunch of things. I depend on this vehicle to get myself to Cindy, and maintain each of their medical needs. I can’t do it on my own anymore, so I’m asking for help. If the above reasons aren’t enough, both have serious health issues. From heart, diabetes, high blood pressure. Tofhis list could go on forever. I’d be lost if I couldn’t provide the proper care for them, They each truly need me. Realistically, I think I need them more … because I was raised taking care of people. It’s who I am.
I have a mechanic who is willing to do the work for under $2500.00. Brian Belong of Somerfieldm IL Getting Chuck and Cindy to their doctor appointments is crucial to their survival and also allows them to continue living in their homes. They’ve each suffered enough with the hand that life dealt them. I strive to provide them as best a normal life, that I can. Our van is vital. Please help us ...

Thank you in advance, from 3 of the most humble people that God has put on our planet.

Love,
Tina
