We are Renee Swenson’s Earth Angels to support her as she was recently diagnosed with Invasive Ductal Carcinoma (IDC) Triple Negative Breast Cancer (TNBC), Grade 3, Stage 1. TNBC is 10-15% of breast cancer and is very fast growing and highly aggressive. The good news is that it was caught early and is 90% treatable.

I was fortunate to meet Renee close to 30 years ago and we became fast friends - both new people in a new city. Renee is a bright angel on earth. She radiates warmth, compassion, positivity, and gives to everyone around her. She is a force of nature and a blessing to all.

Her giving nature started as a child going door to door raising funds for worthy causes and has continued her entire life. She’s walked several Komen 3-day walks, ran marathons for Leukemia and the American Heart Association. Never did she think she might be a recipient of these organizations.

Her biggest challenge is the cost of medical insurance for the 7-month gap until her Medicare kicks in. Chemo and surgery can’t wait, and gap insurance is expensive. She stopped working last year for health reasons and her sister's illness. Her COBRA ends in October and she does not qualify for Medicare until May.
