Little update on Remi
As many of you know, Remi will soon need an upgraded prosthetic, which is a major expense. Because she lost her eye so young, she will need new prosthetics throughout childhood and into adulthood as she grows. These replacements are necessary to help support proper bone and facial growth.
Over her lifetime, the cost of prosthetics alone could easily exceed $100,000. It’s a long journey that comes with ongoing medical needs and expenses many people never realize.
She also has an upcoming minor surgery to help open her tear ducts, so we would truly appreciate all the prayers and support as she goes through that as well.
We are beyond grateful for everyone who continues to love, pray for, and support our strong little girl. Every share, prayer, and donation means so much to our family. ️ #ChildhoodCancerSurvivor
Remi finished chemotherapy in November, and she is doing so well. We are so grateful every single day for her strength and how far she’s come. Watching her grow, play, and just be a happy little girl means everything to us.
As she’s getting bigger, she will soon need an upgrade to her prosthetic. This is something we always knew would come with time, but it’s still a big and expensive step for our family.
We’re staying positive and taking it one step at a time, just like we always have. Thank you to everyone who continues to love and support our girl—we feel it more than you know

Round 4 of 6
Today marks Remi’s 4th round of chemo and once again she showed us what a true champ she is. On top of everything, she recently had surgery to remove benign cysts, and she continues to amaze us with her strength, courage, and sweet spirit. We are so grateful that she’s been handling treatment as well as she has, and we continue to hold on to hope that one day this will all just be a distant memory. Thank you to everyone who has kept Remi in your thoughts and prayers—your love and support mean the world. #RemiStrong #ChildhoodCancerAwareness
My first Mother’s Day took an unexpected turn…
This was supposed to be a joyful milestone—my very first Mother’s Day. Instead, I received the news that no parent ever wants to hear: my sweet baby girl, Remi, has Retinoblastoma, a rare form of eye cancer.
Due to this unexpected medical emergency, I have had to take time off work to be by Remi’s side. Unfortunately, I do not have any vacation or paid leave left, which means I will not be receiving any income during this critical time.
I’m humbly asking for support from friends, family, and kind strangers. Every donation—no matter the amount—will go directly toward medical bills, medications, and everyday living expenses to help us stay afloat during this traumatic chapter.
I’m holding on to hope and faith. I truly believe that with the help of our community and the grace of God, Remi will overcome this. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your love, prayers, and support.
With gratitude,
Josephine Holmes
