Hi!!
Love to share this story with you all. On June 19th, 2025, my neighbor Mike found 4 kittens on the side of his home just born. Not knowing what to do, he reached out to myself and my dear friend Chris to assist and come to the rescue. Why us?? Well, Chris is an amazing and avid animal lover and does amazing things in the community with helping our ever-growing population of cats. Me... well, in 2022, my daughter adopted a beautiful orange tabby named Finn, and in 2023, I adopted another orange tabby named Poppy.
My godson was visiting at the time when they were found, and we noticed mom cat had moved the kittens, leaving behind one. That would be the runt, aka Beans. Well, Beans is now living his best life in Fort Myers and was hand-fed and loved by my godson and his amazing girlfriend.
So, you may be wondering what ever happened to those other 3 babies and their mom.
The mom showed up wandering around our neighborhood and took a liking to the backyard of another neighbor... that would be Phil. We decided we needed to feed her; she has babies somewhere, we just didn't know where she decided to take them to.
So the bond started between Phil and mom cat, aka Fiona! Yep, she's been named. She is black and has green eyes. After a few months of feeding, she decided to finally bring her babies to enjoy some yummy food and a safe area to frolic.
To do the right thing, we were able to trap all 3 kitties and have them spayed and neutered. We have tried to domesticate them so they can be adopted and taken off the street. Unfortunately, only one was able to be adopted. That would be Fergus! And guess where he now resides... that would be with his brother Finn and sister Poppy.
As far as the other 2 who you see pictured here, they also were named. Farkle and Felicia are too spicy to be handled and adopted, and now we feel are not fit for backyard life and deserve a better home.
That's where you all come in. We are trying to relocate them to an amazing sanctuary in the middle of Florida where they will live out their best life safe, fed, and most importantly, loved and cared for.
We are trying to raise some money in hopes to bring a nice donation to the rescue to help with all the amazing work they do.
We would love if you would consider a donation or even sharing this post in hopes to help these little kittens out. Our hope is to transport them within a few weeks to a new home.
Now you may ask about Fiona, well, she has been spayed this last week and is getting ready to live her best life here in Phil's backyard. She may even be invited inside... we are working on that one.
If nothing comes from this, those kittens will still be relocated to their new home, and most importantly, I hope to bring awareness to this really terrible situation we have here in SFL with so many cats on the street. Please spay and neuter your animals. If we all do a little to help, it will make a difference.
