In December of 2023 Logan got really sick. What we thought was a typical stomach bug with a high fever and constant, urgent bathroom visits and lots of stomach pain, led to weeks of severe lethargy and dehydration and landed him a 6 day stay in the hospital and years of misery. During his hospitalization they treated his fevers, gave him fluids and did TONS of testing. Everything came back negative. Eventually his fevers subsided and they sent him home thinking the rest would follow suit and be better soon. However this wasn’t the case, it was just the beginning. Over the last 2 years Logan has been in debilitating stomach pain and has spent most of his time in the bathroom and refusing to eat due to the pain. We ended up changing pediatricians to one that listened and has sent referrals on to multiple specialists to get to the bottom of his issues. He has now seen 12 different doctors and has had testing done at 5 different hospitals, has had 6major procedures and LOTS of lab testing, and is in therapy to help with his anxiety over food and going places with stomach pain. His current gastroenterologist in St. Louis has him on a medication that is really helping. He’s finally able to eat, enjoy school and act like a kid again. However, we have terrible insurance through the hospital and with both of us working full time + overtime hours we are unable to make all the minimum payments needed to so many different doctors and hospitals. We appreciate any help given.
