I'm an 18-year-old who came out as transgender at 9 years old. I have transphobic parents that do not want any part in my transition, including the cost. I have been saving since 12 and working since 14 to afford this surgery. 

One of the most significant steps in managing my gender dysphoria is top surgery, which I plan to have with Dr. Katherine Rose. I’ve been waiting for top surgery for almost a decade and can’t wait to receive it!  However, the cost of the surgery will be around $12,000. Your donation will help cover the cost of the surgery and bring me closer to controlling the dysphoria I've dealt with for years.

My surgery date is now set for November 5, but has the possibility to move to September.

Edit: even after contacting both my insurance and the practice involved, they have denied my claim even when they promised that it would be covered. I have a bill for $275 for just the consult and the surgery is going to be much more expensive. I’m gonna have to work as much as I possibly can to afford this throughout the summer and take up a third job. Any donation, even as low as five dollars, is greatly appreciated.
