On May 9, 2024 Sgt. Cleary from the Statesville Police Department and Capt. Shane Cleary from the North Wilkesboro Police Department, tragically lost their child, Reese Cleary, in a fatal car accident. Reese was an inspiration to everyone he knew, and loved to be involved in sports. He was attending college and looked forward to starting a career after graduation.The family’s wishes are for his memory to continue and to impact future children in the lives and careers they choose. The family has started a scholarship in Reese Cleary’s name and all donations obtained will go toward this scholarship. The scholarships will not only assist children in the dreams of attending college, but will also carry on the memory of Reese Cleary in many years to come, impacting many children’s lives!!!!
