I run a YouTube channel called, "Dumbsville," which has been my life's work for the better part of ten years. However, I almost lost all of it.

A friend of mine, someone who is a vtuber and does streaming, ended up getting her Discord account compromised by a scammer. The scammer then proceeded to message me and, pretending to be her, asked me to help set up a modded Minecraft server for what I assumed was a streaming project. This, however, turned out to be a way for the scammer to access information to not just my YouTube account, but also multiple emails, my Discord, and my Instagram, all of which I use for business. He then held the channel for ransom, threatening to delete/sell it unless I paid him money, and threatening even more money when I attempted to warn my friends about it. He was able to also unblock himself, see when I was messaging my friends warning them, and knew when I was changing my passwords.

Long story short, he ran off with $2k. It was either that or lose everything.

Since then, I spent the better part of four-to-five hours locking everything down, including even a factory-reset of my PC. While I thankfully had some of the assets I used backed up, this was still a massive production blow and an even bigger financial blow for me. Not to mention, this was terrifying to be on the edge of losing all I had worked for.

I know that $2,000 isn't a lot compared to everyone else, but on top of a lot of personal life stuff, I'd like to be able to recoup that loss and get back on track. Any extra made from this GoFundMe will go to other expenses like rent, food, and my roommates. Since this was a large chunk of money stolen, I'd be more than happy to expand the goals, but will be closing immediately (and crying) if we reach $6k.
