Donate to Rae's Healing Journey with Casey

On July 17, Casey’s dog Rae (her road dog who has been with her the last 8 and half years, moving from state to state and up for all of Casey’s adventures)  suddenly developed bloat. Bloat is often a deadly condition and results in an emergency surgery in order to save the dog’s life.

Rae’s condition was more severe than most. In most cases, the dog’s stomach will flip 180 degrees, but Rae’s flipped 360 degrees, taking her spleen with it. In surgery, they discovered her spleen had died, and Rae had to undergo a splenectomy in addition to the emergency stomach operation. She died on the operating table, but by a miracle, she came back.

Shortly after returning home, Rae began showing signs of further heart complications. She was rushed back to the hospital and where the Vet’s identified continuous arrythmias, which are irregular heartbeats. These arrythmias were caused by her body struggling to recover from such a major trauma and the loss of her spleen. This resulted in yet another few nights of hospitalization.

There were so many moments where Casey thought Rae wouldn’t make it. The two of them spent days bouncing between emergency vet visits, trying to rest, and desperately hoping Rae would pull through.

Now, Rae is finally home again and stable. She’s still struggling with appetite, but this will likely figure itself out as she finishes her large amount of medications. After everything, the medical bills are overwhelming.

If you know Casey, you know Rae isn’t just a dog, she’s family. The two of them have been through so much together, and Casey has done absolutely everything she can to save her girl. But no one should have to face this kind of financial burden alone. We’re raising funds to help cover the cost of  Rae’s emergency surgery and hospitalization, and follow-up vet visits and recovery support. Every dollar helps. Even if you can’t give, sharing this go fund me means the world.

Let’s help Rae heal and give Casey a little peace after the absolute roller coaster they have been through.

Thank you for supporting Casey and her sweet baby girl!
