The BOLD Delta Kappa Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. is hosting its 3rd annual Miss Omega Psi Phi Scholarship Pageant on November 7, 2025. It serves to recognize and uplift collegiate women who demonstrate academic achievement, leadership in their community, creativity, and community service. The pageant also serves as a fundraiser, with each contestant raising money for their pageant journey and to support their platform throughout the year.

My name is Rachel Rose Thompson, a proud fourth year Biomedical Engineering major at the Georgia Institute of Technology. I come from Marietta, Georgia and involved on campus as a Research Scholar, Peer-to-Peer Mentor, Volunteer Lead at the Red Cross, and a Spring 2025 Initiate of the Xi Alpha Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc.

I was raised by a community of strong Black women who poured into me endlessly, and now, I want to pour that same energy into the next generation.From a young age, I was exposed to the endless possibilities with STEM , and that foundation helped me discover my passion for Biomedical Engineering. However, I know that is not the story for all. Too often, Black children are left without access or encouragement to pursue a career in STEM.

Through my platform, I plan to partner with the CEISMIC program to uplift the young cBlack community —opening doors, creating opportunities, and showing them they belong in spaces of innovation and discovery. Because the future does not just deserve their brilliance, it requires it.
