Hi my name is Sophie!

On the 8th of April 2024 my baby girl was born via emergency cesarean at just 29 weeks due to preeclampsia. Born just 1lb 14 Lina faced a long NICU stay at singleton hospital.

Lina is now a healthy, thriving one year old. One of the most memorable parts of Linas NICU stay amongst the incredible care provided by the team were the Zaky hands. These are weighted Zaky hands that provide comfort to the babies and are incredibly important and beneficial. Me and Linas dad would spend hours and hours a day having skin to skin with Lina and I will never forget the evenings going home feeling drained, numb and heartbroken to be leaving our baby there. Before I left I would always tuck her Zaky hand around her so she had the feeling of being held and comforted just as a baby should.

I recently found out that singleton NICU is short of zaky hands and they are rather expensive to replace, so am raising money to purchase as many as possible and take into the unit.
