Help Launch the First Study on GPCR Autoantibodies in PSSD

Donation protected
We’re happy to announce that neuroimmunologist Dr. Chandra M. Menendez, together with
Dr. Madeleine W. Cunningham, professor of microbiology and immunology, will be leading the very first academic study on GPCR autoantibodies in Post-SSRI sexual dysfunction (PSSD).
This will be the first (human) study conducted on actual PSSD patients.

In short, the aim of the study is to investigate the potential roles of GPCR autoantibodies in PSSD, and to explore potential biomarkers and mechanisms involved, as well as investigate other overlapping syndromes.
The official startup is October 1st.
We need 20 000$ (201 000kr) to get the study started on time.

IMPORTANT NOTE (September 5th-25):
Unfortunately, the benefactor who had pledged to support a huge part of this study recently withdrew their commitment at a very late stage, leaving us with a major funding gap.
Without timely seed funding, there is a real risk of losing momentum at the very point where we are ready to launch the project that could generate new insights, publish findings, and bring much-needed visibility to PSSD.
It could also generate preliminary data needed for larger, long-term grants, which is time sensitive.

If we are unable to secure these funds, within the next few weeks, this huge opportunity might be lost.
Every contribution at this moment directly determines whether this study can move forward.

Luckily about half of the original amount needed (50k) have already been secured, but we need more help to get us over the goal line.
We need to raise 20k (201 000kr) by October 1st to ensure that the study starts on time.

We really hope as many as possible can contribute so we get to realize this huge opportunity.
In advance, thank you!

Other funding:
The additional (estimated) 10k for assays, shipping and a control group is an additional expense that is not as time sensitive. A new fundraiser will be set up for this at a later stage.

NOTE:
This is INIDA’s temporary beneficiary fundraiser for the official fundraiser which is in the process of being set up (delayed), moderated by Jon Jacobsen.
Due to some unexpected delays in the approval and setup of our official business bank account, we are temporarily using this personal GoFundMe account as a beneficiary.
Funds will be transferred to our official fundraiser once it’s ready.

Once the fundraising goal is reached, the funds will be transferred to the researchers, Dr. Madeleine Cunningham and Dr. Chandra Menendez, to carry out this important study.
In the event that we are unable to raise the required funds in time and the study cannot move forward, we will do our best to offer refunds to anyone who requests one. Any remaining funds will be reserved in our official account for use in future research projects.
*Please note that once the funds are transferred from this temporary fundraiser to our official association account, refunds will be much more difficult to process. After the funds have been wired to the researchers, we will no longer be able to offer refunds.

Pay attention for further updates.
