Help Us Bring Warm Meals to Swain County
Swain County has faced tremendous challenges in the wake of Hurricane Helene, leaving many in our community without access to basic needs. The impact of the hurricane has left families and individuals struggling, and one of the biggest issues we face now is food security.
What Happened? Hurricane Helene caused significant damage to infrastructure, and in the aftermath, many families have found themselves unable to travel due to the lack of gas availability and the complete loss of cell service in some areas. The old warm meal program, which provided consistent support for vulnerable residents, has unfortunately shut down, leaving a gap in vital services.
Why is a Warm Meal Program is Needed? With limited transportation options and no reliable way to communicate or access resources, people in Swain County are feeling the strain. Many have lost their homes or are living in severely damaged conditions, making it difficult to prepare meals. Elderly residents, families with young children, and those with limited mobility are especially affected.
Our goal at Restoration House WNC is to restart the warm meal program to provide much-needed meals to our community. We aim to ensure that everyone, no matter their circumstances, has access to nutritious, warm food delivered to their doorstep.
Your donations will go directly toward:
Preparing and delivering meals to those who cannot leave their homes.
Purchasing food supplies and working with local farmers and providers.
Delivering meals to those who are isolated due to the lack of fuel.
We are determined to fill the gap left by the closure of the previous meal program and meet the needs of our neighbors, one warm meal at a time.
Your support can make a significant difference. Together, we can ensure that no one in Swain County goes hungry in these challenging times.
Please donate today and help us rebuild the community through care, compassion, and warm meals.
